Mark Goudge

Mark Goudge grew up in Huntington Beach, Ca received a basketball scholarship while playing at Orange Coast College from the University of Alaska where he was team captain and graduated with a BA degree with emphasis in finance. Mark has been in the financial services industry his whole working career. He started working in the commercial banking industry, then spent 10 years at Merrill Lynch and got into the mortgage business in 2000.
In 2002 he formed Mortgage Consulting Group, Inc. which was originally set up as a marketing company but later transformed into a mortgage broker up until 12/31/2023 when the company licenses were not renewed so Mark could join Ideal Mortgage.
In 2004 Mark founded Multi-State Home Lending, Inc which was a direct lender and licensed in over 20 states. As the company’s CEO, Mark setup every aspect of the company and grew it from 1 employee to over 70 within 4 years. Every aspect of the loan process was done in house (marketing originating, processing, underwriting, QC, doc drawing, funding, warehouse line, post closing functions). This is where Mark and Jeff Toomire formed their working relationship and both were integral parts of Multi State’s success. They actually met many years ago when they were kids and randomly crossed paths during the Multi-State venture. In 2013, due to industry changes, Mark divested himself of the company and went back to Mortgage Consulting Group on a full time basis. Multi-State Home Lending still exists today but as a much smaller broker operation compared to the original vision.
Mark is very excited to be involved in the start-up of Ideal Mortgage and thinks the timing of this launch is spot on.
